The DIVA Award for Outstanding Contributions to Women’s Health and Well-Being

BACKGROUND

The DIVA Award for Outstanding Contributions to Women’s Health and Well-Being was established in order to recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to furthering women’s health and well-being. This award is the highest expression of recognition and celebration for exceptional achievements in furthering women’s health and well-being.

The DIVA Award for Outstanding Contributions to Women’s Health and Well-Being recognizes the sustained and exceptional contributions and accomplishments in fields related to women’s health and well-being.

The award consists of a certificate signed by the President of the DIVA Foundation, a unique DIVA commemorative, and a donation to a charitable organization related to women’s health and well-being of the recipient’s choice.

The DIVA Foundation Award and Recognition Program:

  • stimulates the community, as well as the public and corporate Canada, to view women’s health and well-being as an important issue;
  • enhances public awareness of the importance of women’s health in society;
  • showcases exemplary programs to a wide audience, including individuals, communities, and health professionals; and
  • promotes best practices in women’s health issues both at the local and national levels.

SELECTION

The selection committee for the DIVA Award for Outstanding Contributions to Women’s Health and Well-Being is comprised of all Board Members of the DIVA Foundation. To enable the selection committee to equitably assess the nominations in terms of the success and extent of the impact of the candidates’ contributions, all nominations are well documented and accompanied by a biography.

 

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for consideration, candidates are proposed by a Board Member of the DIVA Foundation. The individual or organization will have contributed to a field related to women’s health and well-being and carried out activities in an outstanding manner.

 

CRITERIA

As the objective of the DIVA Award for Outstanding Contributions to Women’s Health and Well-Being is to honour excellence, candidates that have devoted themselves to a given task or tasks whose magnitude, significance, and impact on women’s health and well-being warrants a level of recognition beyond normal expectation.

The DIVA Citation

BACKGROUND

The DIVA Citation was established to recognize individuals and organizations that have provided extraordinary humanitarian help, care, or services to individuals, families, groups, or communities or that have supported humanitarian causes. Recipients have demonstrated qualities such as compassion, generosity, sensitivity, and respect.

The DIVA Citation consists of a certificate signed by the President of the DIVA Foundation, a unique DIVA commemorative, and a donation to a charitable organization related to women’s health and well-being chosen by the recipient.

The DIVA Foundation Award and Recognition Program:

  • stimulates the community, as well as the public and corporate Canada, to view women’s health and well-being as an important issue;
  • enhances public awareness of the importance of women’s health in society;
  • showcases exemplary programs to a wide audience, including individuals, communities, and health professionals; and
  • promotes best practices in women’s health issues both at the local and national levels.

The DIVA Scholarship/Research Grant

BACKGROUND

The DIVA Scholarship/Research Grant was established to recognize a student engaged in research or education related to women’s health and well-being.

The DIVA Scholarship/Research Grant includes funding for the student and a certificate signed by the President of the Diva Foundation.

The DIVA Foundation Award and Recognition Program:

  • stimulates the community, as well as the public and corporate Canada, to view women’s health and well-being as an important issue;
  • enhances public awareness of the importance of women’s health in society;
  • showcases exemplary programs to a wide audience, including individuals, communities, and health professionals; and
  • promotes best practices in women’s health issues both at the local and national levels.

The DIVA Letter of Recognition

BACKGROUND

The DIVA Letter of Recognition was established to recognize, in a timely fashion, individuals or organizations whose work has contributed to the enhancement of women’s health and well-being.

The recognition consists of a letter of appreciation signed by the President of the DIVA Foundation.

The DIVA Foundation Award and Recognition Program:

  • stimulates the community, as well as the public and corporate Canada, to view women’s health and well-being as an important issue;
  • enhances public awareness of the importance of women’s health in society;
  • showcases exemplary programs to a wide audience, including individuals, communities, and health professionals; and
  • promotes best practices in women’s health issues both at the local and national levels.
