Ottawa Public Health is promoting Active Ottawa Actif, a daily activity challenge for the month of May to encourage participants to get active for 30 minutes every day. Anyone, anywhere can participate. There are great prizes to be won! You can win a hybrid bike by sending in your log: download the physical activity log and get moving!
Regular exercise, which can include anything from brisk walking, gardening, or active housework to playing sports, reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke in men and women of all ages.
Although we’re a few days into May, it’s not too late to get started. Challenge your friends or family to move every day in May. It’s a great way to begin to develop a habit that can last the summer, or a lifetime.
